What Preschool Teachers Would Like You to Know Before Sending Kids to School

Are you planning to put your kids in school? Here are a few things that Montessori teachers would like you to know before you actually send your kids to school.

Start the day with a healthy breakfast

Before coming to Preschool your child should have a healthy breakfast. A school is a place where children learn different things through various activities. So, a high sugar, low protein breakfast would give them the required energy to start their day with a bang.

Comfortable clothes

Pre-schoolers should come to school wearing comfortable clothes. Fancy dresses are not recommended as their dress should not be a distraction or hindrance to their learning. They are expected to wear comfortable bottoms (easy to pull up and off without much assistance), a cotton t-shirt or top, and sports shoes (as they will be doing different activities). Parents should send an extra pair of dresses in their bags for any emergency.

Stationery

In most of the Daycare centers, basic stationeries are provided. In this case, your child is not supposed to carry anything extra to school. If the school is not providing the stationery, you can send the basic stuff (2 already sharpened pencils, 1 eraser, 1 scale, and 1 sharpener) in a simple zip pouch. Any fancy pencil pouch would be a definite distraction for the child as well as for others.

Learning to be independent

Before starting to go to school parents can make their children practice eating their food by themselves, washing their hands, pulling up and off their trousers at home to make them independent. Initially, they may need assistance but gradually, with practice, they will become independent in doing these basic jobs.

Short dropping off time

Making a short drop-off time will be helpful for the child. A hug, a kiss, or probably a short goodbye sentence would be enough to drop off your kid at the school. If your child cries at the dropping time, don’t be worried and trust the teacher. Preschool Torrance CA playschool teachers are well trained to take care of your child when they are feeling upset or homesick.

Trust the teacher and the institution

Parents must have faith in the teachers and the institution. All the teachers are well accomplished and competent to take care of the kids. They plan different activities for the kids throughout the day to help them improve their gross and fine motor skills.

Every child is unique

Every child is unique.  They have their strengths and limitations. Instead of comparing with others, parents should appreciate their uniqueness. Adults can encourage their children by giving them compliments and incentives if they are showing any good behavior or demonstrating any new learning.

Teachers love their students

Teachers love their students as much as parents love their children. Teachers also want their students to be successful in life. So, parents and teachers can work in collaboration for the betterment of the child. Parents should ask teachers if they need any help at home or they should share every important detail about the child to the teachers which may have a direct or indirect impact on their learning and growing up.
